BRUGGEMAN, AUGUST JOSEPH 1897 - 1989
Died April 9, 1989 Larchwood, Iowa at the age of 92 years.

August Joseph Bruggeman was born on April 4, 1897 at Larchwood, Iowa, the son of Henry and Nellie (Clerx) Bruggeman. He grew up in the Larchwood area and attended schools there. On January 15, 1924 he was united in marriage to Catherine Snyder at Larchwood. Following their marriage they farmed in the Larchwood area until retiring in 1962. During his life, August was an avid horseman and a member of various saddle clubs and also did horse judging. Last Sunday he died at his home following a long illness. At the time of his death he was ninety-two.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine of Larchwood and seven children, Norbert of Garretson, South Dakota; Leonard of Sioux Falls; Patricia, Mrs. Russell Wright of Brandon, South Dakota; Cleone, Mrs. Jim Kellar of Rapid City, South Dakota; Gerald of Valley Springs, South Dakota; Maureen McCarty, of Mt. Clemens, MI; and Don of Larchwood. Also surviving are thirty four grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Sister Leonard of Dallas, PA and Lorena Phelen of Flandreau, South Dakota.

Preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers and three sisters. Another sister, Helen Kelly, died just several hours after August's death.

Following the graveside services there will be a lunch served in the parish hall for all relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, April 12, 1989, 11:00 a.m. St. Mary's Catholic Church, Larchwood, Iowa. Celebrant: Fr. Gerald Fisch.

Casket Bearers: Gene Bruggeman, Joe Bruggeman, Frank Wright, Tim Kellar, Jim Bruggeman, Alan Bruggeman.
Interment: Larchwood Cemetery, Larchwood, Iowa Roste Funeral Home
