GROTEWOLD, LAURENCE 1907 - 1992

Larchwood, Iowa - Laurence Grotewold, 84, Larchwood, died Saturday, February 15, 1992, in McKennan Hospital.

Mr. Grotewold was born December 23, 1907, in Granite, Iowa. He married Laura Schoenfelder on June 10, 1939, in South Sioux City, Nebraska. He farmed west of Larchwood, retiring in 1970. In 1977 they moved into Larchwood. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a trustee in Sioux Township for many years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons; John "Leap," Larchwood; Donald, Moses Lake, Washington; two daughters: Mrs. Joe (Mary) Blauwet, Larchwood; Mrs. Gene (Jane) Bonynge, Spicer, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters; Bernice Paulson, Downey, California; Louise Clark, Stafford, Virginia; and Muriel Duchaine, Sloan, Iowa.

Services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Larchwood, with burial in Larchwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today in Roste Funeral Home, Larchwood, with scripture service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Laurence Grotewold, 84, of Larchwood, Lyon county, Iowa , were held February 18, 1992 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Larchwood, with interment in the Larchwood cemetery.

He died February 15, 1992 in McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, Minnehaha county, South Dakota.

Mr. Grotewold was born December 23, 1907, in Granite, Lyon county, Iowa. On June 10, 1939 he married Laura Schoenfelder in South Sioux City, Nebraska. He farmed west of Larchwood, retiring in 1970. In 1977 they moved into Larchwood.
