DUIN, HENRY 1897 - 1987

Rock Rapids, Iowa - Henry Duin, 89, Rock Rapids, Iowa died Thursday in Lyon Manor, Rock Rapids.

Mr. Duin was born May 11, 1897, in rural George, Iowa. He attended school in George and married Jennie Christians, February 18, 1925, in rural George. They farmed near George before retiring in 1957 and moving into town. For the past 5 1/2 years he has been in Lyon Manor.

Mr. Duin was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Jack Sauter Post #404 for 68 years.

His wife died in 1975.

Survivors include three sons; Fred, Little Rock; Edwin, George; and Henry Jr., Sioux Falls; two daughters; Mrs. John (Gusta) Timmerman and Mrs. Art (Rose Ann) Wulfsen, both of George; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, George. Burial will be in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, George.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today in Vogelaar Bolin Funeral Home, George, with the family present at 7:30. (April 1987)
