Clarence DeVaul, 84, of Tacoma, Washington, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, in Tacoma.

Services were Tuesday at Bethel United Methodist Church, Inwood, with interment in Richland Cemetery.

Mr. DeVaul was born Jan. 23, 1918, in Rock Rapids, the son of Claude and Mabel (Bahnson) DeVaul. He grew up and worked in the Inwood area. He graduated from Inwood High School, then served in the army from Oct. 1, 1941-Dec. 20, 1945. He then moved to Tacoma and became a U.S. Postal worker. He delivered mail more than 30 years.

Survivors include a brother, Harold of Inwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, his twin Clayton and Loren, and four sisters, Lydia Johnson, Bernice Groth, Adella Slob and Leona Sandvold.
