UNDERBERG, MATT 1908 - 1987
Matt F. Underberg, 79, of 4701 E. 12th St., died Friday in McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Mr. Underberg was born March 12, 1908, in Larchwood, Lyon county, Iowa. He moved with his parents to Gary and later returned to Larchwood.

After his marriage to Alma Ann Warborg, February 6, 1934, in Alvord, Iowa, they farmed near Larchwood. They then moved to Estelline, South Dakota, where they farmed for a few years before moving to Brandon, South Dakota. The couple farmed there until moving to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he was employed with Loonan Lumber Co. until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife; two sons; Donald and Tony, both of Sioux Falls; five daughters: Mrs. Bernard (Alice) Van Vooren, Albert Lea, Minnesota; Mrs. Paul (Rita) Kaffar, Humboldt; Mrs. Don (Jane) Hoffman and Joyce Pesicka, both of Sioux Falls; and Mrs. John (Mary Jean) Seiner, Alburquerque, New Mexico; 33 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; four brothers: Peter and John, both of Sioux Falls; and Ted and Andrew both of Larchwood; and two sisters: Collette Rosener, Vail, Iowa; and Agnes Bell, Sioux Falls.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Therese Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Larchwood.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today in George Boom Funeral home.
A scripture service will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
