VIERECK, EDWARD 1905 - 1986
Larchwood, Iowa - Edward Viereck, 81, Larchwood, died Wednesday in Lyon Manor CAre Center, Rock Rapids, Iowa.
Mr. Viereck was born May 13, 1905, in Rowena and grew up in the Larchwood, Iowa and Rowena, South Dakota areas. He married Ivy Horn June 16, 1928, in Alvord, Iowa. They farmed north of Larchwood, and in 1960 moved into Larchwood. Mr. Viereck entered the Lyon Manor Care Center in August of 1981.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Rolland, Larchwood; a daughter, Mrs. Ed (Karen) Hildring, Valley Springs; 10 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; five brothers; Roy and Alfred, Larchwood; Frank and Donald, Hartford; and John, Sioux Falls; and five sisters; Mrs. Ken (Verna) Forthum, Mrs. Irene Schumann and Mrs. Alice Love, all of Ida Grove, Iowa; Mrs. Ed (Evelyn) Heyer, George, Iowa; and Mrs. William (Eva) Slayton, Rapid City.

Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in English Lutheran Church, Larchwood. Burial will be in Larchwood Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today in Jongewaard-Roste Funeral Home, Larchwood, with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m.
Prayers will be said at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral home.
