Mrs. Alice White Former Resident of Pingree, North Dakota dies.

She was the sister of Elsie Thompson. Mrs. Alice B. White 72 of Washington, D. C., former resident of Pingree, died Sunday night in the Wheaton Nursing Home, Wheaton, Maryland. She had been in ill health since Nov. 20, 1962. Born Oct. 9, 1890 in Doon, Lyon county, Iowa, Mrs. White was the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. George Bowers.

She attended school and taught at Doon before her Marriage to Arthur L. White, which took place there on June 9, 1910. Mr. And Mrs. White lived at Alvord, Lyon county, Iowa (5 miles NW of Doon, Ia. & on the railroad) for a time before moving to Pingree, North Dakota, where he was associated with the Pingree Bank. Later they resided at Walhalla.

Mr. White died several years ago. For the past 20 years Mrs. White has been employed at the Pentagon at Washington, D.C. She was a member of the congregational Church at Doon. She is survived by one son, Richard White of Tacoma, Washington

(NOTE: In a copy of a directory Jamestown in 1920-21 Arthur White is listed as Cashier Pingree State Bank. In the 1917-18 one as asst cashier Pingree State Bank. In the 1928-29 listing he is no longer listed.)
