Mrs. Margaret (Maggie) Block was born on August 17, 1903, at rural George, Iowa, the daughter of Klaas A. and Lena (Hassebroek) Klaassen. She grew up in the George area and on March 29, 1923, she married Henry Block of Little Rock. They farmed south then, later north of Little Rock, retiring to town in 1964.

Henry died in 1969. She was an active member of Salem Reformed Church, and also in Senior Citizens.

She died on Thursday, September 17, 1992, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley at the age of 89 years, 1 month.

She is survived by four children: a daughter, Darlene and husband Arthur Heidebrink of Rushmore, Minnesota; three sons: Clarence and wife Eileen Block of Little Rock, Iowa; Clifford and wife Jo Ann Block of Little Rock, Iowa; Virgil and wife Betty Block of Adrian, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; one sister Etta and husband Herman Buss of Little Rock; 4 sisters-in-law: Mrs. Elma Klaassen of Little Rock; Mrs. Mary Block of Little Rock; Mrs. Maggie Hinrichs of Sibley, Iowa; and Mrs. Mary Agnes Steussy of Fort Dodge, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers; infant John; Andrew; and Fred, and two sisters, Edith and Lena.

Funeral services were held on September 21, 1992 at Salem Reformed Church of Little Rock, Iowa. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Little Rock.

Funeral services for Margaret Block, 89, of Little Rock, Lyon county, Iowa, were held September 21, 1992 at First Reformed Church, Little Rock with interment in Pleasant View Cemetery.

She died Thursday, September 17, 1992 in Osceola Community Hospital, Sibley, Iowa.

Margaret Klaassen was born August 17, 1903, in rural George, Lyon county, Iowa. She grew up in the George area.

On March 29, 1923, she married Henry Block. They farmed north of Little Rock, and retired in 1964 in town. Her husband died in 1969.

Survivors include three sons, ? (unable to read due to a fold in the newspaper) and Clifford, both of Little Rock and Virgil of Adrian, Minnesota; one daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Darlene) Heidebrink of Rushmore, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Herman (Etta) Buss of Little Rock.
