--------
(The following poem is written in honor of Mrs. Peter B. Siebrands. Through these words the author hears her speak to all who remain on the sea of life.)
THE PILOT CALLS

Oh! Sinful soul on life’s wild sea,
The Pilot calls, “Trust in Me”.
Sin’s winds are fierce; your bark is frail;
Then let Him lead thru storm and gale.

The surges roll, and winds ne’er cease;
Sail on with Him in perfect peace.
He’ll lead thee till the night is gone,
And you shall see heaven’s morning dawn.

See harbor lights on yonder shore;
There’s life and peace forever more.
The maimed can walk, the blind can see,
The weak are strong, yea! All are free.

See saints and friends are gatherin’ round
The throne of God. Their songs resound.
They sing for safe within His care,
They know that they will ne’er despair.
He’s calling thee; He ceases not.
He knows they plight; that hell’s thy lot
He’s calling still; turn not away.
He’d se thee thru; respond today.

Look up to Him, He’ll lead thee on;
‘Midst raging storm and tempest strong.
Then on with Him forever more
To perfect peace on Heaven’s shore.
