Arthur E. "Archie" Heidebrink, Age 82, of Rushmore, died Sunday, September 19, 2004, at the Parkview Manor Nursing Home, in Ellsworth. He was born October 29, 1921, in rural Nobles County, Minnesota, to Martin and Jennie (Feltman) Heidebrink. Archie attended country school. Upon completion of his education, he was active on the family farm.

Archie married Darleen Block on March 29, 1946, in Little Rock, Iowa. After their marriage the couple lived on the family farm south of Rushmore until 2003. Archie retired from farming in 1983.

He became a resident of the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth in August of 2003. He was a former member of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church, south of Rushmore, where he served in various offices; and the District #115 School Board. Archie was a member of the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, Iowa.

Archie is survived by his wife, Darleen, Elsworth; by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Jan Heidebrink, Adrian; and Dennis and Lynn Heidebrink, Chad Heidebrink, Kim Keidebrink, Carrie Heidebrink, Jeremy Heidebrink, Jamie (Devon) Bruns, Jared Heidebrink and Jenny Heidebrink; by five great-grandshildren, Taylor, Johnathon, Donovan, Madison and Linkin; by two sisters-in-law, Helen Heidebrink, Slayton; and Tina Heidebrink, Columbus, Mississippi; three brothers-in-law, Clarence (Eileen) Block, Little Rock, IA; Clifford (JoAnn) Block, Little Rock, Iowa; and Virgil (Betty) Block, Ellsworth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by two brothers, Harm and Ray Heidebrink; a sister, Grace Johnsen; a brother-in-law Si Johnsen and a nephew, Arba Johnsen.

A funeral service was held for Archie on Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, Iowa. Rev. Brian Hellenga officiated. Musical numbers included "The Old Rugged Cross," "In the Garden," and "Nearer My God To Thee." The organist was Amy Haken, and soloists were Ken Meester and Brian Hellenga.

Casket Bearers were: Scott Heidebrink, Chad Heidebrink, Kim Heidebrink, Carrie Heidebrink, Jamie Bruns, Jenny Heidebrink, Jeremy Heidebrink, and Jared Heidebrink.

Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Little Rock, Iowa. Dingmann Funeral Home of Adrian, Minnesota was in charge of arrangements.
