"Marie Harberts, 91, of George, formerly of Sibley, Iowa, died Wednesday, August 3 1994, at the Good Samaritan Center, George.

Born April 19, 1903, in Parkersburg, Iowa, she was the daughter of Harm and Mary Boomgarden Van Haken. She married Harm Harberts on November 1, 1923, in George. He died in March 1969.

She grew up in Parkersburg and attended country school. At age 13 she moved to Lyon County, Iowa. After marriage they lived on a farm east of George until moving to Sibley in 1954. She became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in 1991. She was a member of the Zoar Presbyterian Church, George, and the First Presbyterian Church, Sibley, when she lived in Sibley.

Surviving are two sons, Loren Harberts, Little Rock, Iowa, and Orval Harberts, George; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel (Marilyn) Wibben, Little Rock, Mrs. Marie (Ron) Niebruegge, Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Mrs. Sharon (Marvin) Schultz, Courtland; 17 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today with the family present form 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Andringa Funeral Home, Sibley.

The service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, Sibley, with the Rev. David Ullom officiating. Burial will be in Holman Township Cemetery, Sibley."
