Martin C. Ennor, Sr.
Rites Held Friday
Funeral services for Martin C. Ennor Sr., life-time George resident, were held Friday, Feb. 6, from the Central Baptist Church with Pastor Morris Motley officiating. Special music for the service was soloist David Dreesman who sang two numbers. Organist was Anita Jansen and pianist was Ruth Motley. The flower committee was Mrs. Melvin Schrick and Irene Siebrands. Casket bearers were Jim Jackson, David Jackson, Martin Ennor III, Dale Ennor, John Ennor and Martin Ennor II. Honorary casket bearers were Guy Summa, Harm Bartels, Earle J. Smith and Marvin Casjens. Interment was in the Lyon First Presbyterian Church cemetery with Vogelaar Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

JAN. 1888 - FEB. 1976
Martin Caryle Ennor was born Jan. 24, 1888 to William and Josephine Ennor at Ellsworth, Minn. He lived in the George area since the age of three. He attended school at George and received a teaching certificate from a Sheldon Junior College.
He was united in marriage to Blanche Belle Rhodes of George on Oct. 9, 1909 at Sioux Falls, S.D. He spent some years managing the playing with a semi-professional baseball team. He later taught in rural and public schools in the George area. For a number of years he was a bulk dealer for the Standard Oil Co. here. He has served as cashier at the First National and the German American Bank of George. In the early 1930's he was a bank examiner. In 1934 he was appointed postmaster and served in this capacity until his retirement in 1958.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a half-sister Myrtle Thye, one grandchild and one great grand child.
Survivors include his wife, Blanche, three daughters: Mrs. Wayne (Alma June) Jackson of Garretson, S.D., Mrs. Elmer (Cary) Veenker of Kent, Wash., and Mrs. Robert (Genevieve) Barger of Orion, Ill.; two sons: Jack Ennor of Cedar Falls, and Martin Ennor II of George. Also surviving him are one sister, Mrs. Henry (Genevieve) Weaverling of Davenport, one half-sister Mrs. Giles (Grace) of Minneapolis, Minn., 16 grand-children and 9 great grandchildren.
