Mrs. Anna L. Semich, 83, died recently at her home in Chariton, where she had lived for the past 47 years. She was born Anna L. Sulentich on February 2, 1893, near St. Rocque, Austria, and migrated to the United States at the age of 19.
On July 13, 1913 she was united in marriage to Stephen Pesuth in DeKalb, Ill., and to this union four children were born: Matthew Pesuth, Kathryn Pesuth, Mary Pesuth and Stephen R. Pesuth. Her husband died on November 25, 1918, during the great flu epidemic of that era.
Later, on August 29, 1927, she was married to Joseph Semich in Chariton, and to this union two children were born; Nick and JoAnn Semich.
Mrs. Semich was preceded in death by her children, Stephen R. Pesuth, Mary (Pesuth) Zuch, and Matthew Pesuth; her great-granddaughter, Beth Ostrem; and her husband, Joseph Semich.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn (Pesuth) Craig of Des Moines and JoAnn (Semich) Lazell, of Cedar Rapids; one son, Nick Semich, of Saudi Arabia; also two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Martha Pesuth, of Dekalb, Ill., and Mrs. Lillian Semich, of Loveland, Colo.; and two sons-in-law, James J. Zuch, of San Fernando, Calif., and Richard J. Lazell, of Cedar Rapids, Ia.; also eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Semich was a kind and courageous person and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
