The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, August 5, 1909

HARRY MILLER, son of MR. and MRS. JOHN W. MILLER, was born in Topeka, Kansas
Aug. 2nd, 1876, and died Aug. 2nd, 1909, being exactly 33 years of age. In
1903 MR. MILLER was joined in marriage to MISS INES RICE, of Siloam Springs,
Ark., where they lived until the following May when they came to Iowa,
locating in Lucas County, living in Chariton the last few years. MR. and
MRS. MILLER's home was made glad by the birth of three children of which,
two, LEO and little MARIE, are left with the faithful wife and mother, to
mourn the loss of a loving father and husband. LILLY, the first born of the
children, was taken from the loving embrace of the parents on the 28th day
of last September. It was a great comfort to MR. MILLER in his last hours
to have by his bedside his father and mother, also three brothers, HARLEY
MILLER, of Bynumville, Mo. There is one sister, MRS. NORA MILLS, residing
in Joplin, Mo. Among those from a distance are C.W. MILLER of Moonsville,
Mo., and A.H. MILLER, of Derby, uncles of MR. MILLER, also a MR. RICE, of
Jentry, Mo., brother to MRS. MILLER.

MR. MILLER had been for years a member of the United Brethren Church but for
the last few years he was not actively identified with the church. In his
last days he rededicated to God, and gave expression to a glorious hope in
Christ his Savior.

Deceased was a member of the I.O.O.F., the W.O.W. and A.O.U.W. orders. The
funeral was private, conducted by Rev. S.S. Smick, on Tuesday afternoon,
August 3rd, and interment made in Chariton Cemetery.
