Vada Marie Martin
(March 5, 1930 - September 25, 2016)

Vada M. Martin age 86, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 in Chariton, Iowa. Funeral services for Vada will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Chariton with visitation to begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow in the Chariton Cemetery. Vada was born on March 5, 1930 in Edina, Missouri to Alba and Grace Patterson. Vada worked as a nurse for 40 yrs. at the Chariton nursing home and Lucas County Hospital and VA hospital in Knoxville. Vada loved being around her children and grandchildren, she loved to go camping and going to the boat to gamble. We would take her to Red Haw just to see the beautiful trees changing colors and look for deer which she loved to do. She will be missed greatly by us all.
Vada is survived by her two sons, Steve(Mary Konrad)Brown of Milo and Gary(Ida)Brown of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kim Feehan, Travis Brown, Chris Brown, Kylee Brown, Shelley Smith and Scott Allen; 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Vada was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin, one sister and three brothers.
