ALFRED EDWIN SQUIRES was born at Springfield, Ohio, Feb. 22, 1846, and died
at his home in west Chariton, Aug. 13, 1907. He was united in marriage to
MISS JESSIE HUNTER April 3, 1871, and the same year came to Ottumwa, Iowa,
where he had a position as telegraph operator. From there he moved to
Garden Grove, and in 1872 came to Chariton, where he was engaged in
telegraphing over twenty years.

Three children were born to MR. and MRS. SQUIRES; GROVER, of Nebraska; CARL,
of Lacona; and STELLA, of Murdo, S.D., who are left with the mother to mourn
the departure of father and husband.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the M.E.
Church, by Rev. Evans, under the direction of the I.O.O.F. of this city.
Sympathy is extended the bereaved ones in the great loss they have sustained
