MRS. LUCINDA STOVER REED was born at Stoverville, Ohio, Jan. 19, 1828, and
died at her home near Santa Ana, April 30th at 7:30 p.m. aged 79 years and 3
months.

Her parents were MR. and MRS. SAMUEL STOVER and she was the last remaining
member of their family of twelve children. Upon the death of both parents,
MRS. REED made her home with the family of her uncle; Judge J.H. Springer,
near Zanesville, O., and from whose home she was married to MR. RICHARD REED
March 23, 1848, and with whom she lived happily until his death, June 30,
1894.

In 1866 MR. and MRS. REED removed from Zanesville, O., to Chariton, Iowa,
where they lived until 1891, when they came to Santa Ana. They were the
parents of seven children, four of whom are living; MRS. MARY C. CHAMPLAIN,
recently from Chariton, Ia., MRS. EMMA E. JAMES, of Redlands, and ALBERT A.
REED and MISS EDA E. REED at home.

Six grandchildren are living, JOHN M. REED of the Daily Register force is a
grandson.

MRS. REED possessed an unusually bright, cheerful disposition which endeared
her to all who knew her. She united with the Methodist Episcopal Church
when twenty-one years of age and remained a faithful member until death.
Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church, Thursday, May 2,
at 2 p.m., being conducted by her pastor, Rev. T.C. Miller, after which
interment was made in the Santa Ana Cemetery.

The floral offerings were beautiful and profuse. The family desire to thank
the many kind friends who assisted them in their time of sorrow.
