RUSSELL NEWS:

ARTHUR LEROY THOMPSON, son of MARION THOMPSON, was born Oct. 16, 1884, in
the southeastern part of Washington Township, Lucas County, Iowa. He united
with the Russell Methodist Church in full membership, July 24, 1904, during
the pastorate of Rev. Carl Brown. MR. THOMPSON lived above suspicion and
reproach, being a most honorable and highly respected resident. He was a
regular attendant at most all the church services. He taught school in the
country very successfully for three years. He was married to MISS NELLIE
BOYD at the home of S.D. PRATHER, near Indianola, Ia., Feb. 8, 1906. He
died Thursday afternoon, January 31, 1907, aged 22 years, 3 months and 15
days.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 2, 1907, conducted by Rev. A.H.
Rusk, and interment made in the Russell Cemetery. He leaves beside his
young wife and infant son, a father, brother and two sisters, who have the
deepest sympathy of a host of friends.
