THOMAS EDWARD MUMFORD was born in Maryland, Oct. 3, 1836, and died at his
home near Oakley, Feby. 25, 1907, at the advanced age of 70 years, 4 months
and 21 days, with heart trouble. He was a highly respected farmer, and held
the esteem of all who knew him.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at Oakley, Tuesday at 2 o
clock, conducted by Rev. Brown, and interment made in Newbern Cemetery. He
leaves a wife and a number of grown sons and daughters to mourn the loss of
a loving husband and father.
