Thursday, April 11, 1907

NANCY A. SALYERS was born in Jefferson County, Indiana, July 19, 1820, and
departed this life at the home of her daughter, MRS. N. MOODY, near Mt. Ayr,
Iowa, April 4th aged 86 years, 9 months and 15 days. She was married to
JESSY LEWIS, Dec. 21, 1837. They came to Iowa and settled in Marion County.
Later they moved to Chariton, which for most of the time has ever since
been their home. MR. LEWIS died Oct. 24, 1891. On Dec. 27, 1897 MRS. LEWIS
married MR. J.G. MCCOY, and for a time they made their home in Melrose, Iowa
Later on June 30, 1903, MR. MCCOY died. Since this time she has made her
home with her four nephews, and with one niece, MRS. MOODY.

Aunt NANCY as she is familiarly known, has been a faithful member of the
Baptist church for over 70 years, and for the last 30 years has been a
member of the Chariton Baptist Church where her funeral services were
conducted by Rev. Palmer at 11 o'clock Saturday morning, April 6th.
Interment took place in Chariton Cemetery.
