ANDERS SEVERIN ANDERSON LUNDGREN was born in Gunnestoep, Sweden, Feby 9th,
1847, and died at his home in Chariton, July 3, 1908, after an illness of
several months' duration, with cancer of the stomach, at the age of 61 years
4 months and 15 days. He came to America in 1873, settling at Renova, Penn
He removed to Huston, Minn., 3 years later, where he resided until 1884,
going then to Des Moines, and to Chariton nineteen years ago, where he has
since resided.

He was united in marriage to GUSTIENA SWANSON, Nov. 16, 1872, who still
survives him. Nine children were born, six of whom are living in this city,
three preceding him to the great beyond. Those living are HARRY, ALFRED,
ARTHUR, ANNA, ELLA and MRS. JAMES WAUGH. Also two grandchildren, and one
sister, MRS. ANNA ANDERSON, who resides at Bock, Minn. He had been a member
of the Swedish Lutheran Church for nineteen years, being present every
Sunday during that time with the exception of six Sundays. He had conducted
an adult Bible Class for the past ten years, and was for twelve years Deacon
in the church.

Funeral services were held at the church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock,
conducted by the pastor, Rev. O.A. Elmquist, both Swedish and American
languages being used. August Lindquist, who had known him for forty-three
years, gave a biographical sketch of his life, in the home, the community
and in the church, and told of the many good qualities and characteristics
with which he had been endowed by nature. His aim was always for the good
of mankind and for the uplifting of the church and the cause of Christ.
