Services for Hazel Fay Askren, 84, of Chariton, who died March 12, 1990 at Lucas County Health Center, were held March 15 at Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton with Rev. Walden Askren officiating. Interment was in Strong Cemetery.

Ms. Askren was born on Oct. 24, 1905 at Purdy, the daughter of William and Celestine Moon. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sisters, Alice Askren and Cleta Wiren, both of Chariton.

A memorial has been established to Pleasant Prairie Church.
