Lora May Scott Parsons, daughter of George Scott and Susan Hawk Scott was born September 17, 1894 and passed away at Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, April 2, 1981 at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 16 days.
She was united in Marriage to Harry Floyd Parsons on February 17, 1917. To this union 4 daughters were born. At an early age she joined the First Baptist Church in Chariton, later transfering her membership to Farmers Chapel near Indianola, where she resided for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Parsons, two sisters, two brothers, and two daughters, Gretchen McCauly and Lola Turner; also an infant granddaughter, Michell Louise Allen.
She is survived by two daughters, Madeline Caraway of Des Moines and Louise Allen of Cedar Rapids; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two nieces and one nephew.
Services for Lora Parsons were held Monday, April 6, 1981 at the Mosher Funeral Home in Chariton. The service was conducted by the Rev. Ronald Stein. Burial was in the Chariton cemetery.
