Whittlesey

Grace Whittlesey, youngest daughter of Lewis and Ellen Duckworth, was born March 11, 1893 and passed away March 3, 1984 at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 21 days. She lived her entire life in Lucas County.

She was united in marriage to Earl Whittlesey the year of 1912. To this union nine children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in July, 1964; her father and mother; three children; five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Marlene Buckalew and Fern Wood, both of Williamson; and four sons, Kenneth and wife Anna of Aboline, Texas, Cecil and wife Donna of Osceola, Ralph and wife Betty of Great Falls, Mont., Marvin and Viola of Selah, Wash.

Also surviving are 32 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She gave her life to Christ at a early age and kept her faith. She was a member of the Nazarene Church of Chariton.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 5 at the Fielding Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Phillips officiating. Interment was in the Russell Cemetery.
