Paul Renick Whittlesey

Paul Renick Whittlesey, son of Earl and Grace Whittlesey, of near Russell, was born in Cedar township, Lucas county, Iowa, on December 14, 1929, and died at the Miner’s hospital in Albia on Sunday, February 4, 1932(it should be 1934), at the age of 4 years, 1 month and 21 days. He had been seriously ill for only two days and was taken to the hospital in Albia but a few hours before his death. Everything possible was done for him but to no avail.

Besides the sorrowing parents he leaves to mourn their loss two sisters, Mrs. Marlene Buckalew and Mrs. Fern Oswalt, both living near Russell, and four brothers, Kenneth, Cecil, Ralph and Gerald at home; also the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Duckworth and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Whittlesey, and other relatives and friends. A little sister, Ruth, died a little more than a year ago.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. Archie Beals, were held at the Baptist church in Russell on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock and burial took place in the Russell cemetery.
