At the home of the bride's parents, MR. and MRS. JOHN BEVAN, near Oakley,
occurred the marriage of their daughter, GEORGELLA, to FLOYD HOLMES. The
wedding took place on Tuesday, April 6, at 12 o'clock, noon. Presiding
Elder B.F. Miller of Indianola, performing the ceremony in the presence of
about forty invited guests. The wedding march was played by Miss Ogden,
Deaconess, of Des Moines, the bridal party entered the parlor, the bride and
groom taking their places beneath a suspended white wedding bell. The
parlor and dining room were tastefully decorated with evergreens and cut
flowers. Following congratulations a sumptuous three-course dinner was
served.

The bride wore white persian lawn, trimmed in lace and insertion and carried
a shower bouquet of brides' roses. She is a talented young lady of pleasing
address a graduate of the Chariton High School in the class of '08 and is
well fitted to take up the duties which will naturally be hers. The groom
is a son of MR. and MRS. SOLOMON HOLMES, near Oakley, and is a young man of
sterling character and worth. They will take up their residence at once on
the John Taylor farm, five miles southwest of Chariton, which the groom had
previously furnished. The bride and groom have many friends in Chariton and
vicinity, who will join in wishing them a tranquil journey over life's
matrimonial sea.
