A Happy Wedding
Married on Tuesday December 8/1896 at high noon at the home of the bride’s father in Benton Township, Miss Ellen Anderson to Mr. Fred Willet. At the appointed hour the bridal party entered the drawing room to the beautiful strains of the wedding march played by Mrs. Wisser, when by the beautiful and impressive ceremony of the Presbyterian church performed by Rev. J. Q. Hall the young couple were united in marriage.
The bride looked beautiful in her bridal gown of light wool trimmed with white satin. The groom was dressed in the usual black. The house was beautifully decorated with evergreens. After the young couple were congratulated and wished all happiness by the large number of assembled guests refreshments were served. The dining table was not forgotten when the decorated, being profusely supplied with eatables. They seemed to know just what was required to satisfy the assembled guests.
The bride is the only daughter of Mr. Neal Anderson one of Lucas County’s most worthy citizens. She is an accomplished lady and her friends are legion. The groom is the youngest son of Mr. J Willet, who resides near Russell, IA and is largely engaged in agricultural and stock raising pursuits.
The fortunate young couple received many useful and valuable presents from their many friends. The readers of the Herald will join with their many friends in congratulations.
