A very neat private wedding was solemnized at the residence of MR. HOWARD
ROSE on 1st instant at 5 p.m. The contracting parties were MR. JOHN L.
ROBERTS and MISS CHARLOTTE ELLEN ROSE. Rev. C.E. Wells was the officiating
clergyman. After the ceremony and congratulations a neat supper was served
and the young people started for their home on a farm about 10 miles south
of Chariton. The groom is an enterprising young farmer and bids fair to be
a very good example of the sturdy yeomen of the Iowa farm. The bride is an
excellent young lady, a graduate of our high school and for some time past a
teacher in the public schools. May prosperity and virtue attend them.
