Course of Study, Rates of Tuition, and Terms of the Chariton Commercial
College:

Courses of Study: Academic, Normal, Commercial, Shorthand.

Rates of Tuition: Academic and Normal, by the month, $4; by the term, (3
months) $10.50. Commercial, by the month, $7; Scholarship, (six months,
complete course) $38. Shorthand and Typewriting, by the months, $8;
Scholarship, (six months, complete course) $42.

Terms of Agreement: 1. Tuition payable in advance, by the month or term. 2
First month a trial month, any student who is dissatisfied with the school
at the end of the first month may withdraw from the school and his tuition
will be refunded in full. 3. Any student who, for any cause, withdraws from
the college before expiration of the term for which he has advanced his
tuition, will be refunded his tuition in amount equal to the difference
between the whole amount paid and the amount of his tuition for the time in
attendance, calculated at the monthly rate.

Our Motto: "A square deal," for the student "good measure, heaped up,
pressed down and running over." For the college, large service and a fair
and reasonable return.

Night School: A night school will be opened and conducted for an attendance
of 10 students. Terms given upon request.

Other Departments: As demand warrants other departments, such as music,
(vocal and instrumental) elocution, telegraphy, etc., will be opened.

Our Claims: With a good working knowledge of English to begin with, we will
prepare a student of the commercial course for a good position as bookkeeper
and correspondent in six months; a student of the shorthand course, we will
prepare, in six months, for a good position as stenographer and typewriter;
a student of the Normal course, we will prepare in from six months to a year
(nine months) to pass the state examinations for a certificate to teach
school.
