MRS. ELIZA NISWENDER, of Oakley, was given a happy surprise, Friday, the
occasion being the eightieth anniversary of her birth. With baskets laden
with choice edibles of every kind, her children, grandchildren and neighbors
gathered at her home uninvited and began to spread a feast, which was
enjoyed by about sixty guests, with provisions enough to feed as many more.
MRS. NISWENDER is the mother of five children, who were all present, but one
Conductor, J.H. BUDD of Burlington, twenty grandchildren and sixteen great
grandchildren. She was presented with a kitchen cabinet and a well filled
purse as an appreciation of the many deeds of kindness she had shown to them
That she may live to enjoy many more pleasant anniversaries, is the wish
of her many friends.

The children who were present were FRANK and GEORGE NISWENDER, MRS. ROZETTA
MCENDREE and MRS. MACE WHEELER.
