Mrs. Lyde Marshall Branscombe was born in Marshall township on the old Marshal homestead, August 8, 1861 and died August 24, 1922 on the farm now owned by her brother. The deceased was married to J. E. Branscombe March 24, 1891 and to this union three children were born: Floyd died at the age of 5; Jennie and Rolland reside at Prout Creek, Montana. Besides the children she leaves 9 brothers and sisters: Robert and Cleo, of the home place; Mrs. Alma Owens, Morning Sun; Mrs. Catherine Paisley, Jenni and Jay Marshall, of Winfield; Mrs. Margaret McMath of Clearfield; Jennie Marshall and Mrs. Cora Owens of Columbus Junction. Funeral services were held from the late home and interment made in Marshall cemetery.
