The Tribune, Wapello, IA received word Tuesday of the death of little Darrell Chapman, who succumbed to an operation at the Hershey hospital in Muscatine that morning at 1:30 o'clock. The child was taken ill with appendicitis and was operated at 10 a. m. Darrel Monroe Chapman, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Chapman, was born at Wapello, Iowa, February 13, 1910 and resided here until three years ago when the family moved to Muscatine. He was a pupil in the fourth grade of the Franklin school, a sweet, lovable child and will be sadly missed in the home. Besides the parents, one sister, Helen survives. Funeral services will be held from the Chapman home at 705 Grandview avenue, Thursday after noon at 3 o'clock, with Rev. P. S. Apfel, of the Musserville M. E. church in charge and interment made in Greenwood cemetery.
