Miss Josephine Stephens passed away at her home near Wapello Saturday evening after an illness of several months duration. Deceased was the daughter of Levi and Jane (Dickson) Stephens and was born on a farm in Port Louisa township where her entire life was spent. She is survived by three sisters and one brother Carrie, wife of John Creswell, of Long Beach, Cal., Nannie J., residing near Wapello; Jessie S., wife of Charles Blaul of Burlington and John F., also of near Wapello. Her parents and one sister, Anna, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held from the Stephens home Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. W. R. Coventry. Interment in the Harrison cemetery.
