Mrs. Jane Steele, widow of the late Major Steele, died in Washington, Iowa, last Sunday and the funeral was held at the Oakland church, west of Wapello, Tuesday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Steele were pioneer residents of this county and were large land owners in the western part of the county.
