William Lambert, a resident of this county for many years, passed away at his home near Elrick Junction Monday evening, March 10. Deceased was born in November, 1841, being past 72 years of age. He was the father of thirteen children, three of whom preceded him in death. The wife and the following daughters and sons survive. Mrs. George Watt and Mrs. Joe Watt, residing near Elrick; Mrs. Norman Anderson, of Marshalltown, Mrs. Bertha Carpenter, Mrs. Kate Phillips and Mrs. Nancy Johnson, all of Muscatine; George, Grover, Henry and Jesse Lambert, at home. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters: Ben Lambert, of Elrick; James Lambert, of Newport; Jesse Lambert of Wapello, Mrs. Mary Mickey of Fredonia, Mrs. Lizzie Syphrit, of Newport and Mrs, Julia Miller, who resides in Virginia.

Funeral services were held from the Fairview church Wednesday morning at eleven o'clock, conducted by Rev. Starkebaum, of Oakville, Interment in the Fairview cemetery.
