Mrs. Edward Bretz, sister of Mrs. B. H. Shearer of Columbus Junction, died at her home three miles south of Columbus City, shortly after noon Monday. following an illness of but a week. Her death was not anticipated until a few hours before she passed away and has caused a deep pall of gloom among her many friends and relatives. She is survived by her husband and four children, who are Flossie, Zeda, Milton and Guy. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. M. D. Hanft, two sisters, Mrs. Shearer and Miss Laura Hanft and three brothers, John, Todd and Louis. She had reached the age of 40 years.
