Mrs. F. M. Colton passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Madison Klotz in Columbus Junction Wednesday July 22. Mamie Klotz came to Columbus Junction with her parents when merely a baby, attended the public schools there and graduated at the age of 16 years. From High school she attended school at Davenport and Des Moines. She was ever interested in music being very efficient in instrumental work. On August 30, 1893, she was united in marriage to Fred M. Colton, living a most happy life until the time of his death, which occurred in the railway wreak near Green Mountain, Iowa, in 1910. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Colton and her daughter, Greta, moved to Des Moines at which place they have made their home until just recently. As her condition became worse they returned to the Junction, the home of her parents.

Mrs. Colton was a most cheerful and pleasant lady thus winning hosts of loyal friends who will not soon forget her. Funeral services were held from the home of her parents Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Hakes, rector of the Trinity Episcopal church of Muscatine. Interment in the Columbus City cemetery.
