Page 1W. H. Hungate, well known Louisa county resident for a number of years died at 2:30 o'clock last Thursday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Earl Smith in Columbus Junction, after a long illness with paralysis. Deceased was born July 20, 1855, at Blakenfield, Ill. He resided in Morning Sun for more than 20 years where he was first engaged in the hotel business and later conducted a restaurant. Poor health compelled him to give up his work. Mr. Hungate also served the county as deputy sheriff though, a number of terms.
He was a pleasant, likable fellow and had many friends over the county who regret to hear of his death.
