Mrs. Mary Catherine Owens, 71 years old, died Monday morning at 5:15 at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. J. A. Trautman, 932 North Fourth street, where she and her husband made their home. She was born in Iowa, September 13, 1851 and on February 21, 1871, she married D. S. Owens at Wapello, Iowa. In 1921 they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. In addition to her husband, she leaves three sons and four daughters, who are: James E. Owens of Oregon; F. B. Owens and D. L. Owens of Burlington; Mrs. John Grim of Winfield, Ia.; Mrs. Alford Leasch and Mrs. J. A. Trautman of Burlington and nine grandchildren. The body will be taken to Morning Sun for burial at the time to be announced later. - Hawkeye.
