Page 1Mrs. H. M. Letts, one of the most prominent women in Columbus Junction, died at 6:30 o'clock Tuesday evening at the age of 61 years. Mrs. Letts was formerly Miss Nellie Springer, daughter of the later Judge and Mrs. Francis Springer, early settlers prominent in the upbuilding of Louisa county. She was born on the homestead south of Columbus City, December 8, 1860. She was married to Hilton M. Letts May 5, 1880. Mr. Letts died a few years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George Remley of Raton, N. M., and Mrs. Earl Brown of Emmetsburg; one son, Warren S. Letts of Columbus Junction; three brothers, Arthur Springer of Wapello, Ia., Frank Springer of Raton, N. M., and Charles Springer of Cimmeron, N. M. Funeral services will be held to day at 2:30 o'clock in the afternoon from her late home. Burial will be made in the Columbus City cemetery.
