Mrs. D. D. Willson died at Morning Sun, Iowa, December 17th, at the age of eighty four year and four month, and her age marked the passing of one of the hardy pioneers who braved the unknown country west of the Mississippi int he early day. Jane Paxton was born in the year 1832 near College Corner, Preble county, Ohio. She grew up to young womanhood in that county and in 1852 was united with W. D. Wilson in marriage. Soon after she and her husband joined a group of homeseekers and drove overland to the western prairies. She crossed the Mississippi at Burlington, then a small scattered village, and settled on a farm near Morning Sun, where she made her home until her death. Her career was one of usefulness and content and she was blessed with more than the allotted span of life and permitted her to celebrate with her husband the sixty-fifth anniversary of their marriage. She is survived by her husband, W. D. Wilson and four children, Miss Agnes Willson, Mrs. W. G. Wilson, James Willson of Morning Sun, Iowa, and Mrs. E. A. Jackson of New London, Iowa.
