Laura Agnes Brown, daughter of John K. and Eleanor Brown, was born April 11, 1870, in Morning Sun township, Louisa county, Iowa. From birth to death she with her parents have resided in the old home northwest of Morning Sun. She attended the public schools of the community from a mere child she has been greatly afflicted but in her affliction there was always a cheerful spirit and disposition to be helpful to everyone with whom she came in contact. She united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Morning Sun, Iowa, July, 1897. Of this church she has been a faithful member through the years.

She leaves a mother and five brothers and sisters as follows: Mrs. Ora Bozman, Mrs. Dora Marshall, Hugh L. Brown, of Winfield Albert Sankey Brown, of Twin Falls, Idaho and B. D. Brown of Morning Sun. She had been in failing health for the past three years. Last Tuesday night, December 16, she was taken suddenly ill. She called the family about her and within fifteen minutes she had gone to her long rest. The funeral services were held in the Methodist Episcopal church in Morning Sun, Sunday afternoon, December 21, at 2 o'clock, conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Charles B. Hankins. The body was laid the rest in the Morning Sun cemetery.
