Page 1Rebecca Wile was born in Monalto, Franklin county, Penn., Jan. 15, 1850, and passed away at her home near Elrick Junction, December 13, 1913, after an illness of but a few hours. She came to Iowa about the year 1870. She was united in marriage to Jacob Seitz, October 8, 1876. To this union were born five children: Maggie, wife of Geo. Evans; Robert, at home; Mattie, wife of Elmer Wilson; Anna, wife of Nelson Cowles; Nellie, wife of Elijah Russell, all of this county, who mourn the loss of a loving mother who with the aged husband are left to mourn the loss of a loving wife. She leaves two brothers, William Wile of Calhoun county, Iowa and John Wile, of Franklin county, Penn.
Mrs. Seitz was a home loving kind hearted woman and her loss will be keenly felt by the entire community in which she lived. Her life was devoted to her home and her family. Early in life she gave her heart to God and united with the M. E. church in Pennsylvania, before coming to Iowa. She has lived a consistent Christian life and has kept the faith. She was laid to rest in the Fairview cemetery, December 15, at two o'clock. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. W. McBlain of Wapello.
