Page 1Mrs. G. W. Gipple, the oldest resident of Letts and one of Louisa county's pioneers, passed away at 4:20 o'clock Friday morning. Her death was due to the infirmities of old age. She had hovered at death's door for many weeks and the end had been daily expected by her family. Mrs. Gipple was 87 years of age on October 6. She is survived by her aged husband and four sons, four daughters. The sons are L. U. Gipple, the well known Letts druggist; Charles Gipple of near Letts; Edward Gipple, of Winfield, and H. W. Gipple, who resides in Arkansas. The daughters are Mrs. M. B. Sharp, of Falls City, Neb.; Mrs. L. Hudler and Mrs. A. H. Dollarhide, of Audubon, Ia and Mrs. J. O. Holtz, of Sweetland. One sister, Mrs. J. R. Sterlin, of Delta, also survives. The funeral was held at the Methodist Episcopal church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Barker assisted by Rev. Denny of the United Brethren church. Interment in the Letts cemetery.
