Columbus Safeguard: Rev. J. R. Johns, pastor of the Salem church in the Welsh neighborhood near here from 1891 to 1896, passed away at his late home in Randolph, Wis., Oct. 3, and his remains were shipped here for burial, arriving Tuesday morning. The funeral service was held at Salem church Tuesday afternoon and was attended by a large number of his former friends and acquaintances. He was one of the most prominent Welsh ministers in this country and his death is mourned by many admiring friends.
