Page 4John Sperry, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Sperry, of Morning Sun, passed away at Burlington hospital shortly after 9 o'clock yesterday morning. The little lad had submitted to a small operation of the knee and had come through in good condition and there was not doubt in the minds of the physicians and nurses that he would be completely restored to health. He was sitting up in bed, apparently in fair health and good spirits, and then suddenly without warning he collapsed and was pronounced dead. He had a weak heart. He was born in Morning Sun, and while not robust seemed a healthy, happy lad. He was brought to the institution a short time ago for treatment of an ailment of the knee that threatened to give him serious trouble. The family have many friends in their own and Des Moines county, whose sympathy will help soften the blow. The remains of the little man will be taken to Morning Sun for interment.
