The funeral of Mrs. Nettie A. Hook, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Minnie B. Cheesman, of this place, last Thursday, was held Saturday and the remains were interred in the Mallory cemetery at Toolesboro, by the side of the body of her husband, the late Wm. B. Hook, who preceded her in death a few years ago. Mrs. Nettie A. Hook was born at Miltonville, Ohio, May 9, 1847 and died at Wapello, Ia., Aug. 18, 1910, aged 83 years, 3 months and 9 days.

Her earliest years until she was 12, were spent at her birthplace. Her parents Haden and Rebeca Sheafor, moving from Ohio to Missouri in 1859, to Fairfield, Ia., the same year and to Tolesboro, Ia., in 1861. She was married May 18, 1865 to William B. Hook, at Toolesboro, Ia. Five children, were born to them, all of them are still living- Harry H., of Harisburg, Ore.; Carl C., of Custer, Okla.; Minnie B. Cheeseman, of Wapello, Ia.; Zophar R., of Custer, Okla.; Daisy L. Matthews, of Toolesboro, Ia.

Mr. and Mrs. Hook made their home at Toolesboro for thirteenth years, when they went in 1883, to Mitchell county, Kan. After residing there about fourteen years they went to Missouri and lived for eight or nine years.

Her husband died May 15, 1908, at their home in Missouri, Green Castle, Adair county. His body was brought to Toolesboro, Ia., for burial in the Mallory cemetery, where her parents, having preceded her in death but a few years, lie buried. Her brothers and sisters are: Mrs. Katherine Shaw of Wapello, Ia., William V. Sheafor, deceased, Mrs. Samuel Herlick, of Tirolt, Okla., and Clark Sheafor, of Toolesboro, Iowa. For the last two years, since her husband's death, Mrs. Hook has mad her home with her daughters, Mrs. Matthews and Mrs. Cheesman. She has been an invalid most of her life. Baptized in infancy she was a christian believer and so lived and died.
