Jas. F. Stevens, of Columbus City, an old soldier, died Tuesday, May 21 after two years of suffering. He has indeed been a sufferer most of his life, having been wounded at the battle of Inka, shot in the lungs, and has carried the ball ever since. It was this old wound that finally caused his death. He was born April 24, 1834. He married Miss Anna Greenblade, of Columbus City township, in which vicinity they have resided most of their lives. His wife, who is and invalid survives him.
