Mrs. James Carmichael of Morning Sun, after an illness of but three days, died Friday evening of last week at the home of her sister, Mrs. Isabella Moon, in the eighty-fifth year of her age, just eighteen days after the death of her husband.

Mrs. Carmichael was born in Ireland, and was united in marriage to James Carmichael, about fifty years ago. Soon after they came to America locating, Ohio,where they lived about ten years. Since that time their home has been in Des Moines county near Roscoe. Mrs. Carmichael is survived by four sisters, Mrs. John Hines, Mrs. George Carmichael, Red Oak, Mrs. Lizzie Mehaffy and Mrs. Isabella Moon. The funeral services, conducted by Dr. C. D. Trumbull, were held from the home of Mrs. Moon of Monday at 2 p. m. Interment in Elmwood cemetery.
