August Korn was born in Wapello April 25, 1858, and died at his home four miles east of Wapello Oct. 19th, 1905, aged 47 years, 5 months and 24 days. He was a son of August and Katharine Korn, old time residents of Wapello. His father was a stonemason and much of his work remains, thought he has been dead a quarter of a century. He had but a few weeks ago completed a fine new residence into which the family had just moved, when he was seized with a return of hemorrhages of the lungs that carried him off. He was converted in the winter of 1897 and united with the German M. E. church.
